Personal Finance is an adventure for everybody and over the years, I’ve accumulated a long list of useful websites, favorite YouTubers and other resources but today I want to focus on three that I think have been the most beneficial to me over the past couple of years. With mortgage interest rates approaching 8% we may be getting ready for a dramatic correction to the housing market and that will be the time to jump in while the panic ensues. Personally, I think it may take another 18 to 24 months for housing to bottom but we’ll see how higher mortgage rates impact housing sales.
Coach Chad Carson
The first is YouTuber “Coach Carson” and he recently put out a great video on how he chooses a rental property. Note that I have no affiliation with Coach, I just happen to like his videos and experience.
Coach has a new book out and I highly recommend it for anyone that is thinking about getting into real estate investing.
Bigger Pockets
The second YouTube channel I like to watch is BiggerPockets. The channel is always informative and offers a variety of topics and occasionally in a humorous way. It currently has 1.1 million subscribers so they must be doing something right.
There are dozens of posts I could write about my adventures in real estate but it will be far more entertaining and much quicker to search these two channels for a topic of interest to you and watch at 1.5x or 1.75x speed which is how I watch most YouTube channels given time is precious to me.
Reventure Consulting (Nick Gerli)
Nick is the king of real estate data aggregation and he deserves accolades for all the hard work he has done putting together the reventure.app that aggregates data from numerous sources including demographics, real estate market, labor markets, and more.
You can watch a review of the app here from an honorable mention YouTuber Real Estate Mindset.
The three YouTubers above will provide you with an enormous wealth of information in the real estate realm and I spend time watching these channels periodically.
In future posts, I’ll walk through some of my real estate adventures and how these channels have helped me make better informed decisions.
