I’ve gone backwards with Zepbound. I had to travel two weeks for work and while I still took my Zepbound, I was in business meeting that often ended with a business dinner at some fancy restaurant. While I mostly ate salads and refrained from any alcohol, I still managed to gain about 4 pounds during that period. I also had to once again shift the days I take the drug because of my work and travel schedule.
I am a bit shocked by it and it perfectly illustrates that eating out, even while seemingly healthy, can be deceiving. I am hoping that most of the weight gain was “water” weight and I’ll recover quickly back to my weight loss but I’m on vacation and I’ll mostly be eating out every day so we’ll have to wait and see how the whole month of July finishes to make an assessment.
Another observation is that food no longer tastes like cardboard after taking the drug. In essence, I am able to retain the full flavor spectrum of foods now even after taking the drug. My doctor has recommended a higher dose but I’m going to hold off on upping in for another 3 month cycle.
Shortages & Cost
I continue to have challenges finding this drug. Sometimes it’s in stock, other times it’s not and have to hunt for it. I managed to score a three month supply this week so I’ll be good thru September. I can’t make rhyme or reason of the charges I get for this drug. Sometimes the charge is $30 other times it’s $200. This last order has a retail cost of $2842 with insurance paying $2642 leaving a bill of $200 for me. So my “cost” for July thru September is $200 plus the enormous insurance premiums I pay every month. It sure feels good sticking it to the man!
I’ll check back in at the end of July and let you know how I’m doing.
