I am late getting this post out but that’s because of the Thanksgiving holiday. The good news is that I actually lost 3 lbs in November including the Thanksgiving holiday and now I’m back on track to weight loss.
I had stopped losing weight when my doc told me to get off the med so I could properly prepare for my colonoscopy. I was off Zep for two weeks and initially didn’t gain weight but there was a lag effect and I ended up gaining a few pounds after a two week lag.
I had written in my October post that I was going to bump up to 7.5 mg from 5 mg but since I am traveling to Europe for most of December, I decided that I didn’t want to risk any adverse effects from a new higher dose. I know how to deal with my current issues the med causes and I don’t want to introduce new variables.
After I exhaust my next 90 day supply and depending on the results, I may or may not increase to 7.5 mg.
I noticed that I have been skipping meals (mostly breakfast) after restarting zep and my appetite has been lower so I am beginning to wonder if there is an initial benefit that wears down over longer periods of time.
I am feeling much better overall and I am grateful this med has made an improvement in my life so far.
